Inquisitive Mommy: ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2

The Design

The ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 houses a glass-like body, but I think this is made of high-grade plastic which I think makes the phone lighter.  But even it is made of plastic it looks very sophisticated and luxurious but also can easily be smudge with finger prints. You might also want to have it with a case since it’s very slippery without it.

The new ZenFone Max Pro M2 also follows the thread of “the notch”. It has a front camera and two rear cameras with 12MP + 5MP with LED Flash. You can still see the ASUS logo at the back near the fingerprint sensor. At the bottom of the phone,

you’ll still see the microUSB port, speaker and earphone jack. On the right is the volume rocker and the power button and the left side is the triple-card slot that can hold two nano sim and a microSD memory card.

OS, UI and Apps

The ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 is using the newest Oreo OS. UI is very fluid at all and no lags spotted when we play Mobile Legends or Vain Glory. There are pre-installed apps like Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Google Chrome and a lot more.

The Battery

The ZenFone Max Pro M2 houses a ginormous battery like its predecessors, 5000 mAh. The Battery of Max Pro M2 drains much faster that the Max Pro M1 when playing games and using it for online streaming, but don’t get me wrong it’s not  a very drastic draining. But it can last up to 2-3 days in standby. There is no Qualcomm quick charge support, but you can charge up the phone around 2 hours to make it fully charge.

The Camera

ASUS never amaze me when it comes to their camera as this phone also house a nice dual rear camera 12MP + 5MP and led flash. The rear camera is a little bit wonky when you take photos using the rear side. Maybe there will be another update on this. The video quality of the phone is also nice as it can really shoot well though still needs a little stabilization when you edit the video.

The front camera with 13MP with 1.12 micron pixel size which makes you selfie much nicer and with vivid colors specially when the lighting is very sufficient. But, there are times that it becomes grainy specially if the lights are a little dimmer. The “depth effect” is also nice as it can really give you a very blurry background which you can also adjust.

But overall the camera of ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 can produce nice and quality photos.

The ZenFone Max Pro M2 experience

I’ve been reviewing ASUS for quite some time and I love how they evolve their phones every time they release a new one. ZenFone Max Pro M2 may be compared to M1 but there is still a lot of difference from its ancestor. The built is much nicer and follows the notch, the camera has been upgraded though sometimes it’s slow when you take photos using the rear camera and using bokeh. The battery is still the same, but the phone is still much lighter than other brands which just houses 3000 mAh battery. The whole ZenFone Max Pro M2 experience is just amazing, imagine a mid-range phone which has the Gorilla Glass 6 protection which prevents scratches and a very luxurious aesthetics. The phone is not perfect, but the issues can be fixed through updates but ASUS really always puts there A game when they release a new one.
