After finishing all the mom tasks we have at hand, staying at home all day can sometimes feel like an endless stretch of boredom broken up by scrolling through social media or watching TV  once in a while. But as a mom, we couldn’t just take that we aren’t doing anything productive for the day. 

So if you are trying to look for ways to banish the stay at home blues and pass out time in a productive way, here are 4 activities I highly recommend that’s worth your time.

Redecorate 

This seems to be something unnecessary as you might be thinking that the aesthetic quality of your interiors isn’t really doing much. But think again, a new ambiance creates a fresh perspective and a different mood. If you have been feeling a bit of stress or any negative emotions lately, a little tweak in the house can aid in creating positive vibes. Redecorating doesn’t necessarily mean you break the bank by buying all sorts of new decor and completely transforming your home. It can be as simple as moving your couch near the window or changing the color of your door. There are numerous interior design tricks you can easily try to simply transform your home into something you would totally be proud of.

Reorganize 

Is there a place or a corner somewhere in the house that needs a little bit of attention? Yes, you do make sure that the house is cleaned and organized all the time, but you can always level this up by carefully examining your way of living. Are the ones you always use right where you can grab them easily? And are there items not used for a long time still out there accumulating dust? There’s always room for better organization in the house especially if the kids keep trying to pick something up and place it anywhere they can conveniently drop them. An organized home makes living simpler, more convenient and if done right, create an illusion of a bigger space. 

Dream

Yes, you read that right. Dreaming can be transformed into something really productive if you take action about it. Creating a dream board is one way to get your creative juices flowing. It also gives you the motivation to achieve them all by seeing them every day. You can cut pictures of your dreams from magazines, like where you want to go on a vacation with your family, your dream car, your dream house, and so on. You can even take it to the next level by being specific. Because being specific with your dreams does a lot to motivate you. You can specify what type and color you want for your dream car, compute how much it would cost you for that dream vacation (then start saving for it), or you can even design your dream home with just your phone! 

Exercise

This can be fairly obvious fellow moms. Exercise is such an essential activity that we should include this in our daily routine. Sweating out is good for the body, the mind, and the soul. It is proven to reduce stress, promote good sleep, and boost your energy. You can try different types of exercise and look for what works best for you. There’s yoga, Zumba, cardio, jogging, or even walking outside can make a huge difference in your health.

Next time you feel boredom creeping in, try out these tips and make the most of your day, every day. But always remember that self-care is also important, and worth every second of your time. It can be as simple as having a hot bath, sipping on a latte, or reading a good book. Find time for yourself too, because you deserve it!
