Ever wonder how Longchamp Heritage was made? This bag really catches my eyes, but it’s worth 50,000 Php or at least $1035. This bag has been going around the online selling world and was sold for Php 5,000 and I told myself what the heck! This bags is a work of art and really worth a every penny, but not Php 5,000. That is why I check Longchamp’s website on how this beautiful bag was made. And by the way this is very different from the slouchy Le Pliage and Neo because this is pure leather and every detail is done by heart.
Here’s the 20 steps on how to make Longchamp Heritage:
Step 1.The design is given to the master cutter for the first mould.
Step 2.They made a very careful checking of the leather before it will be cut.
Step 3. Many punches (26) are use to cut various panels to create the bag
Step 4. Checking the leather. This is also checking the leather for thickness using a micrometer.
Step 5. Logo is hot stamped into the leather.
Step 6. Details are being dyed like the edge and the inside pocket
Step 7. The leather are shaped to give volume and body.
Step 8. Again, the leather is dyed on the edge to create a very elegant contrast to the bag.
Step 9. The edges are being dyed again by hand and machine
Step 10.The edges are being sand to give a very flawless finish
Step 11. The leather strip is positioned on top of the leather panel.
Step 12. Very intricate stitching is done on the leather.
Step 13. Pocket, key and other compartments are being attach to the inside lining.
Step 14. A very delicate stitching is done on the leather
Step 15. They assemble the lining inside the leather panel for a perfect finish
Step 16. The handle will be inserted in the panel by hand.
Step 17. Continous stitching again to assemble the bag in 3d and to assemble the gussets into the body of the bag.
Step 18. A very delicate inspection is done.
Step 19. Another round of sanding is done on the bag to make a very flawless finish.
Step 20. Another set of hand dying is done again.
