Spice Cafe + Firefly at the Roof deck (City Garden Grand Hotel)

I love food, who doesn’t love it? Last weekend, we tried City Garden’s two famous food avenue the Spice Cafe and Firefly at the roof deck. We’ve got to try Spice Cafe’s breakfast and Firefly’s Mongolian Dinner Buffet. Here’s our review on the two restaurants inside City Garden Grand Hotel.

FireFly at The Roof Deck

The Food

Firefly serves stir fry noodles which you can mix and match whatever sauce, noodles or ingredients you want to add and a Chef will do it in front of you.

Here are the ingredients you can choose from to incorporate in your stir fry noodles.

I’m a rice person and I super love this Yang Chow rice! You can partner it with either beef or fish or you can eat it alone.

You can also make your own salad and choose for all of these ingredients. They also serve Maki, which I think cannot be seen in the photo due to the reflection of the light.

Rate for Maki: 4/5

They also serve this veggie, which I forgot the name (Sorry!) , but this is super tasty and you can eat it alone. But I don’t like the combination of this veggies with the rice.

I think this is just a pan fried salmon, it does not have sauce or anything on it, but I think it was marinated in some herbs and spices. This is super tasty and the it was cooked evenly.

This cheesecake is super bitesize and super creamy also. It has the right amount of sweetness and sourness from the blueberry.

This is the assorted tempura. They have vegetable and  shrimp tempura, which is super yummy and what I love about this tempura is that it’s not super covered with butter which make the tempura look bigger. You can eat easily without any anticipation on where’s the shrimp.

We also did a little mojito night last week at Firefly and it was super invigorating after the dinner. Though, I got a little tipsy just after one glass.

The Ambiance

We love the ambiance of the roof deck, plus you’ve got to see kids running and swimming, but you can still enjoy the nice skyline of Makati and chill a little big while sipping on your favourite sangria or mojito.

Spice Cafe

The Food

Upon entering Spice Cafe, I got overwhelmed with a lot of food that I have seen and it made me think, what would I eat? They have been serving a lot of nationality for their accommodations, that’s why I am not wondering why they have a lot of international cuisines for their breakfast. So here are what I tried over breakfast.

I just saw this area, which I think is very helpful if we have kids. They will surely love the cookies and the chocolate fountain.

I didn’t try this part also, but the kids loves this area!

Tried the waffle, french toast and the pancake and they all taste a like haha! Maybe because I just put honey and butter on these three. The pancake is not too fluffy though so I have a hard time eating it.

I did’t taste this fried tawilis, but the foreigners love this small fish and they keep on coming back for it!

When I saw the smokes ham, I just remember Christmas. Though this ham is tasty, it’s a bit salty and the smoky taste is not present.

This one is my favorite of them all! The bacon is super crunchy, but I tasted a sweet and salty one maybe this bacons are assorted.

Rate: 4/5

I also didn’t taste this are, but I saw a lot of Middle Eastern looking foreigners who are going on this area.

I tasted this bruschetta looking bread and it taste good and refreshing after binging on a lot of food!

Relenong Bangus, is super nicely deboned and also very flavorful. A slice can be for two persons since it’s filled with a lot of bangus.

Rate: 4/5

They also have juices for breakfast like Apple Juice, Mango Juice and Four Season. These juices are freshly squeeze and from the fruit itself.

The Ambiance

I love how homey and refreshing to see and stay at Spice Cafe. Specially when you are seated on the window side, you’ll see the busy street of Makati. The Cafe is almost made of wood from the walls and accents.

To cap off  our experience in both restaurant/cafe we did have fun and full that day and I must say that you should try Firefly at the Roof Deck and Spice Cafe as they are serving the best food in town! or better yet have your family staycation at City Garden Grand Hotel
