Thank God, that Tutuban Center is here to hear all my sentiments in life. I have two kids and both of them are in private school which consumes all our budget, since their tuition fee is over the top. Thank God, I can buy their school supplies and other school items like sando’s, shorts and socks at a very affordable price at Tutuban Mall.

Here's what I bought the last time I went to Tutuban Center.
Here’s what I bought the last time I went to Tutuban Center.

I have a little adventure last Tuesday, we were given a budget of P1,000 and we need to buy four important items: School Supplies, Home Essentials, Toy/s and Sulit Buys. My strategy is that I’ll buy as low as possible the four needed items and buy more school items for the remaining money that I’ll have.

Our first stopped that day is National Bookstore to buy school supplies, so what I did is buy the more essential things that my youngest needed to submit to his teacher, so that’s:

8 pcs. Long folder with plastic – P14.75 /pc
40 pcs short bond paper – P29.00
20 pcs Oslo Paper – P 39.50

Then we went to ASI Novelty shop to buy for our home essentials and what me and Angelyn Demo of mommysmaglife.blogspot.com to buy spoon and fork. The spoon is 12 pcs and so as the fork which cost P50 so we decided that I’ll buy the spoon and for her the fork (haha! mommies really are superheroes, when it comes to managing our money).

Our next stopped is Anding’s Toy and Flower shop where I bought a Fidget Spinner worth P100 for the big  and sturdy one. They also have a lot of plastic flowers and grasses which is super cool for flatlays.

Our last stopped is when I decided to buy slacks and sando. Imagine I bought the 2 slacks for P400 and 6pcs of sando for P288 (P48 /pc). So, here are the total of the items I bought:

School Supplies:
8 pcs. Long folder with plastic – P14.75 /pc
40 pcs short bond paper – P29.00
20 pcs Oslo Paper – P 39.50
Total: 186.50

Home Essential
Spoon: P50

Toy/s
Fidget Spinner: P100

Sulit Buys
Sando: from P68 to P48
Slacks: from P250 each to P200 each
Total: P688

Total Expense: P1,024.50

I was P24.50 over budget, but I think it was a super nice experience where I manage to buy a lot of stuff for my kids without going over board. So if you want to try my shopping adventure, visit the new Tutuban Center and learn its history and see how it transform to an old, but beautiful mall.
