What’s inside the box?
- Kata C2 unit
- USB Cable
Kata C2 has a metal frame that gives a simple yet sophisticated look. The front panel of the phone is made of glass, while the back cover is made of thin plastic. On the front panel of the phone you can see the 5MP camera with flash and the touch buttons. On the right side you’ll see the volume rocker and the power button and on the bottom area you’ll see the charging/power port and the speaker. At the back of the phone you’ll see the 13MP camera with flash and the camera button which I thought was a finger print scanner.
Kata C2 may have a very simple design, but with its built is superb for me. It gives the consumers the ability to choose a phone that is very affordable yet elegant looking. And oh, by the way the phone is slightly curved for a much good grip on the phone.
The Display, UI and Apps
Kata C2 have a 5.5 inch HD IPS with 1280 x 720 resolution which I love watching my new fave tv series Riverdale! And we also tested the C2’s touch point and it only scored 2 touch points which my kids think that it is super low, but we don’t have any problem with the adaptive response and the kids have a very smooth experience when they use it for texting or playing games.
When we got the phone there are pre-installed social apps like Facebook and Youtube. And other apps and utilities like calculator, calendar, clock, ToDo, sound recorder, WPS Office and FM radio.
Kata C2 uses a 2,600 mAh battery which Kweky said that its good for a 5.5 inch smart phone. It also have a standy intelligent power saving which can help to prolong your phone’s life. We use Antutu Battery test app and started it at around 8:01 A.M. with 99% battery life with temperature of 23C (celsius). The app will run through internet connection and it test the unit with games, videos with sounds and internet browsing non-stop. The test ends around 12:59 P.M. with 13% and 38C temperature. Kata C2 ranked 8,469 surpassing Lenovo S920.
Kata C2 has reached a temperature of 47C when we are testing its battery and it took 4 hours of continuos usage of internet, games and video for the battery to be lowbat or in our case we only got 12% battery after the test.
To benchmark the Kata C2 we use Antutu benchmarking version 6.2.7 and Geekbench. Kata C2 scored 23,719 in Antutu Benchmarking and scored 407 for single core and 931 for multi core in Geekbench. Kata C2 is ranked as mid-level for games and scored 1184. CPU scored 9402 and can satisfy our daily usage.
The Camera and Sample Shots
Kata C2’s front camera is 5MP f/2.8 with LED Flash and the rear camera is 13MP f/2.8 with AF and LED Flash. My kids and I tested the camera for product shots and used it to take photos of our dog. I love how vibrant the photos are but I have a hard time focusing it and it takes 5 to 10 seconds to focus and to finally take the shot. The front camera is very easy to use and Kata did a good job with it and if you use the led flash it makes a really beautiful photo. Though some of our photos looks grainy specially in low light.
Photo and Video settings of Kata C2
Kata C2 has the basic features like panorama, HDR and beautification. Though when you want to use the manual mode you need to go to the settings on the left side and you can set up the exposure, Color effect, scene mode and white balance.

The Kata Experience
It’s been more than a week of using Kata C2 and my kids are super amazed with it because of the 5.5 inch screen, but with an affordable price. My youngest loves using it for gaming though the rom is just 8GB and he wishes that it could be more than that. And for me what I love the most about Kata C2 is the overall aesthetic of the phone, imagine having a sophisticated smart phone without emptying your pocket. I think mommies like me will surely love this phone as our kids will play games with it without any lag and watch movies without any hassle. Kata surely holds to its promise that they are making life easy!
