If you are in for a mobile phone and a tablet combined, Alcatel Pixi 4 6 inches should be on your list of phone to check out. Check out my full review below and know if Alcatel Pixi 4 (6) is your future phablet.
The unit was sent without a box, but the inclusions are as follows:
– USB Cable
– AC Adapter
Alcatel Pixi 4 (6) is very light, slim and have a plastic body and have dual sim card. It also has a very simple design the gold back cover compliments the black front cover. Since it’s 6 inches it’s very suitable for gaming and for social media.
The charging port and the audio jack is located at the top of the phone. On the left side of the phone you can see the two sim card port and on the left side is the SD Card port, volume rocker and the power button.
The Display, User Interface and Apps
Alcatel Pixi 4 (6) have a Capacitive touch screen and qHD 960 x 540 IPS. The user interface is not as fluid as other mobile phone, but it does not hang up. I also have a little problem when it comes to using it in day light because I preffer low brightness so I still need to adjust it when using outside.
You also don’t need to download Instagram, Facebook and Shazam because it’s already donwloaded on the phone. You can also see that there is a pre-installed game, the Spider Man which your kids will surely love.
I love how simple the theme is, but I wish they take the white background when you open the menu and make it the same with the front page.
Alcatel Pixi 4 (6) have a non-removable battery with 2580 mAh, which I think is not too big for a large phone like this and also I did a bettery test using Antutu Battery Testing and Alcatel Pixi 4 (6) scored: 8934. I started the test at 1:19 A.M. with 93% battery life and ended it at 6:37 A.M. with only 9% left on the battery. It lasted only more than 5 hours with full usage of the internet, gaming and watching videos and it also takes more than an hour to charge the unit.
I also use Antutu Benchmarking to check Alcatel Pixi’s benchmark with version 6.2.1. Alcatel Pixi scored: 23,647 in Antutu Benchmarking and the result for gaming is mid-level that is why when we tested it for gaming we experience lagging.
Alcatel Pixi 4 (6) is ranked Mid-End on CPU basis and will most likely satisfy your daily usage. We also did a multi-touch test by using 10 fingers, but it scored only 5.
The Camera and Sample Photos
Alcatel Pixi 4 (6) have 8MP front camera with FF Flash and 13MP rear camera with AF Flash. We did a little photo shoot with different lighting and no filter:
Alcatel Pixi’s camera supports Auto Mode, Manual Mode, Polaroid, HDR, Panorama, QR Scanner and Beauty. You can also adjust ISO up to 1600 and adjust the lighting of your preference.
Alcatel Pixi 4 (6) is priced at P5,499.
The Mommy’s Score Board
I did have fun using this mobile because it’s so big and I am very happy watching video and my fave series on it, but I have a little problem with the battery since it’s just 2850 mAh and it also takes awhile charging it. What I love about it, is that is is very lighweight and have a bigger screen which is suitable for watching and also gaming, but sometime the game is lagging in the middle and we need to restart it. The price is very admirable at P5,499 you can have a mobile phone + tablet in one.
