British School Manila is very proud of their commitment to service learning. Their main vision and mission is to develop their students as a global citizens and make sense of their students’ sense of rapid changing world to contribute in the making of a world full of peace, fair and sustainable.

CAS or Creativity Activity Service programme is an integral part of the International Baccalaureate core programme and in many ways the perfect realisation for the work they do.Their International Baccalaureate team recently completed the CAS Programme with the current year 13 cohort. The Year 13 students spoke fluently about their work with the local schools. orphanages and hospitals. The students had formed and ethical implications on what they do and they have a depth reflection on what they experience with poverty, inequality and individual.

BSM new approach is led by Mr. Owen called “Bayanihan” from the Filipino word “Bayan” which captures the spirit of community we see in our culture. The students is being encouraged to develop projects in line with their passions and interest with broad categories such as Health, Environement and Education.

One characteristics of the Bayanihan Project is the emphasis on independence. The project is to make their students to take ownership, make decisions, asses risk and manage uncertainty as a group, which takes their students to ability to reflect and thrive with challenge as to they follow BSM’s Vision and Mission.
