4 Closet Organisations Tips That Will Make Your Life Easier

We have all stood in front of our chaotic and messy closets thinking “I have absolutely nothing to wear”. However, what if we were to tell you that the key to a closet full of inspirational fashion options is to have an organised closet that works for you?

Our closets are often where we throw our clothes at the end of the day, and it isn’t until we have a proper clear out that we find that dress that we fell in love with last summer, and then forgot all about. Having an organised closet will not only make getting dressed in the morning a whole lot easier, but it will also enable you to make the most of the clothes you have, and save you money as you won’t need to buy anything new.

Basically, what we are saying is that by following these closet organisation tips that we have put together, you can transform your living space, your fashion style, and even save yourself a few dollars and therefore make your life a whole lot easier!

Declutter by Category

In order to start the organisation process, we recommend that you first have a good declutter and clear out of the contents of your closet. Many of us are guilty of holding on to clothes that haven’t fit us in the last ten years in the hope that ‘one day maybe it’ll fit me again’. Well, now is the time to say goodbye to these items! The more of your old items that you throw out, the more space you will have to make organising your closet so much easier.

But, be sure to separate clothes into categories when decluttering your closet, as a huge fabric mountain on your floor can be overwhelming. By having piles of jeans, dresses, T-shirts, you can see how much you have of each item and what you can afford to donate to charity or recycle

Keep Your Jewellery Separate

While it is important that you organise your clothes systematically and categorically in your closet, you also need to ensure that your accessories are all kept safe. There is nothing worse than finding your favourite necklace all tangled up at the bottom of a bag.

So, we recommend that you keep your jewellery separately in a safe place. For example, My Treasure Box offer safe and secure jewellery and watch boxes that are a great place to store your accessories.

Empty Your Closet and Clean it Out

Once you have a ‘donate’ and ‘keep’ pile of closet items, you should take the time to give your closet a good clean so that you know there is nothing lingering at the back. You will probably come across a random shoe or belt that you forgot you owned, so give your closet area a deep clean by wiping down the shelves. This will stop any of your clothes coming out of the closet dusty and save you having to clean them again.

Store Your Clothes by Category

When it comes to putting the clothes that you want to keep back into your closet, we recommend that you organise it by category. While this may seem like a pretty obvious tip, many of us lazily put our clothes away in any order, making items we want harder to find in the future.

Knowing where in your closet you can find your favourite tee or pair of jeans will save you a considerable amount of time when you are getting ready.

Through following these small but effective organisational tips for your closet, you can be sure to make your life a whole lot easier!
